After a brief two year hiatus due to the pandemic, the New Resident Open House returned to the Reading Public Library on Monday night. The event was hosted by the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce, Reading Public Library, the Town of Reading with pizza provided by Colombos Pizza Cafe. The reception was a great way to connect new homeowners, who are looking for local services and restaurants in Reading as well as meeting representatives from town government, schools, churches, youth groups and community organizations.
I had a chance to speak with Lisa Egan, the chambers Executive Director, and she mentioned she was able to give away all of the 50 new resident gift bags that local businesses provided various items to ranging from gift cards to car air fresheners. It’s safe to say the event was a great success and we appreciate all the hard work from all of those involved running it. More importantly, all of our new neighbors.
Welcome to Reading!
