At last nights School Committee meeting, Chair Shawn Brandt announced a successful contract negotiation with Reading Public School’s Superintendent Dr. Thomas Milaschewski. The new 6-year contract, goes into effect on July 1, 2023 at $214,000 annually. There is also an exemplary performance clause at no less than 2.5% and the School Committee retains the option to increase that beyond that figure as well as a travel expense of $4,000. At the end of the contract, should Dr. Thomas Milaschewski remain for all 6 years, there is a $15,000 longevity payment.
After the committee voted 5-0 (Erin Gaffen was ill and unable to attend) to execute the new contract, Dr. Milaschewski expressed his excitement for his future in Reading:
Iβd like to thank the committee for moving forward. I’m really excited. I love coming to work every day. This is a great district. It’s a great place to be. I think there’s a lot of really exciting things happening. I think we’re all really excited for what’s happening here in the future. So I appreciate your belief in me and your belief in our team and looking forward to continuing to work with you over the next several years to continue to try to best educational experience we can for all of our students.
