If you arrived at Reading Memorial High School today at 9AM, you would have missed what transpired hours earlier. Today is the Class of 2023’s last day of school but it started a tad earlier for some of them at 5AM for “Senior Sunrise”. There was a posting on social media requesting everyone to bring as much toilet paper to school as possible last night and if you were there this morning, that is exactly what happened and then some.
The video below was recorded by Reading resident Larry Meuse, who runs a Facebook group called Scanner Patrol, highlights just how much toilet paper was used and it was everywhere. From the stadium, to the Performing Arts Center and everything in between was a sea of white.
There were mixed reports on whether or not members of the administration or senior advisors knew about what was going to happen today but the following email was sent by Principal Kevin Tracey at 10:20AM:
Referenced in the email is the fact that peanut butter was used, which can cause severe allergic reactions to certain individuals with nut allergies. That was not supposed to be the case from those that knew about the prank as well as it not being mentioned on the RMHS students Instagram:
As of 9AM though, everything was almost back to the way it was the day prior. The seniors were seen with trash bags cleaning up everything they could and nobody was hurt on the final day of school for the Class of 2023.
