In what appears to be the final chapter in the former Walgreens building story, the Harnden Street location has a potential new tenant, Dollar Tree. Mentioned during CPDC’s meeting last week and then during the Finance Committee’s meeting last night, Dollar Tree has submitted a building permit application for an interior renovation. It’s not a zoning request but a same use permit and they must adhere to the site plan agreements made when the building was constructed.
This isn’t the first time Dollar Tree has shown interest in the property though, back in 2019 they got as far as a sign request with CPDC but apparently backed out due to delivery trucks having issues getting onto the property.
As of August 23rd, no building permit has been posted in the window. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as this story unfolds.
