Town Clerk Laura Gemme has provided a third update for all of the open seats in the March 5, 2024 local election, which is combined this year with the Presidential Primary. We will provide updates every Thursday until the ballot is finalized as nomination papers are not official until returned and certified by the Town Clerk and Board of Registrars. The last day to pull papers is January 15, 2024 by 5PM and all must be returned by January 16th.
The incumbent for the single seat on the Select Board, Christopher Haley, pulled papers this Monday. From the School Committee, newcomer Dana Guarino of Holly Road also pulled papers on Monday. Incumbent Shawn Brandt pulled papers last week with incumbent Sarah McLaughlin left outstanding. From the RMLD Board of Commissioners, current Climate Committee member Ray Porter pulled papers last week, joining Pamela Daskalakis. Incumbent Marlena Bita is outstanding.
Wrapping things up with the The Board of Library Trustees with incumbent Andrew Grimes pulling last week and Monique Gnanaratnam not yet taking out papers. Newcomer Andrew Gregory of Pleasant Street, pulled on November 28th but hasn’t returned them as of this posting. Alan Foulds, the incumbent for Town Moderator, is the only non Town Meeting candidate that has pulled and returned papers for certification.
Town meeting only had 9 papers pulled this week, 5 of which were non incumbents, Brian Bowe (P1) of Brewer Lane, Boriana Milenova (P2) of Eaton Street, Jessica Noble-Gibbs (P2) Pleasant Street, Amanda Haley (P7) of Tennyson Road, Christopher Haley (P7) of Tennyson Road and Michael Lacey (P7) of Beacon Street.
