When should my child begin attending school?
To be eligible for admission to the Reading Public Schools a child must have reached the age of five on or before August 31 of the entering year to begin kindergarten or have reached the age of six on or before August 31 of the entering year to begin grade one.

- January 5th – Registration documents and additional information about kindergarten will be posted on the district website.
- January 9th; 7:00-8:00 pm – Virtual Kindergarten Information Session: Learn more about the Reading Public Schools, the kindergarten program, and the registration process. A Zoom link will be posted on the district website on January 5th. Sign up for email updates using the QR code to receive the Zoom link via email.
- January 31st; 6:00-7:30 pm –Kindergarten Registration Night: Drop off your registration forms and accompanying documents at Reading Memorial High School.
- Last Names beginning in A-L Attend: 6:00-6:45pm
- Last Names beginning in M-Z Attend: 6:45-7:30pm
