Shared earlier today, in the Reading Parents Network Facebook group, was a GoFundMe for Shankerganesh Krishnamoorthy (also know as Sean), the co-owner of Half & Half and Zucca Italian Restaurant in Reading. Sean and his family suffered a total loss when their family home burnt down earlier this month and Kannan Kesavalu organized a GoFundMe fundraiser on their behalf.
As some of you know, all of my Cafe Conversations videos were shot at Half & Half and the very first one was with Isaac and Sean. They are incredibly humble people and do everything they can for our community. They work both locations, long hours and put the work in, all for our benefit. They didn’t deserve this, nobody does, but they do deserve our community support to help them rebuild their life and I’ll do everything I can to help as well.
Below is a link to the GoFundMe setup and a snippet of what happened.

via Kannan Kesavalu’s GoFundMe – We are reaching out to share devastating news about our dear friend Shanker and his family. Recently, tragedy struck their home, leaving them in a state of profound loss and desperation.
In a cruel twist of fate, a raging fire consumed Shanker’s house, mercilessly destroying everything they owned. The flames spared nothing, reducing the cherished memories and possessions accumulated over 17 years living in the house to ashes. Shanker, his wife, and their three children and their puppy are now grappling with the harsh reality of homelessness, their lives turned upside down overnight.
Shankerganesh Krishnamoorthy’s family consists of his wife and three children at different stages of their lives – a high schooler (17 yrs old) eagerly anticipating the start of college this year, a middle-schooler (13 years old) navigating the challenges of adolescence, a toddler (2 years old) still taking their first steps in the world and a puppy (3 yrs old). This tragedy has left them without a roof over their heads and with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
