The Reading Coalition for Prevention & Support will host a mental health literacy class in May. Sign up for our Mental Health First Aid course for adults from 5-7:30 pm on Tuesdays May 7, 14, 21, and 28 at the Reading Public Library at https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/zj4c5a3
The course is designed for adults that want to learn basic mental health first aid skills to support other adults. The course will be taught by Taunya L. Jarzyniecki, Public Safety Clinician.
The course will teach participants an ‘easy to remember’ action plan including: how to assess a situation, listen non-judgmentally, give reassurance and information, and to encourage appropriate professional help, self-help and other support strategies.
