Discover Summer reading, celebrated authors, community art, and more, starting this week at Reading Public Library
Reading Public Library (RPL), Reading, MA—The library is a great place to visit this summer. We’ve got summer reading for all ages – including great raffle and BINGO prizes. New this year, kids entering grades K-6 can keep an eye out around town for Spot our 4-foot tall giraffe friend. When you find him, stop in and pick up a raffle ticket for a chance to win a portable karaoke machine! Summer Reading for all ages begins June 14: https://bit.ly/RPL2024summerreading
In June, the Friends Speaker Series brings us Freida McFadden, author of The Housemaid series, on June 13, and for both teens and adults, Tiffany Jewel on June 20. Later in the summer, on July 9, you’ll be able to see fabulous children’s author Kate DiCamillo. Then, on August 21, the author of Remarkably Bright Creatures, Shelby Van Pelt. Best of all, you have access to all previous author and speaker events on our website! https://libraryc.org/readingpl
Don’t miss the community art display now in The Studio through August 31. Colorful and creative coral reef crochet pieces – created by you! – have come together in a one-of-a-kind community art exhibit to highlight climate change and current threats to marine life. You can learn more about our summer programs in our summer program guide or stop by the library! https://bit.ly/2024summerbrochure
