READING — Police Chief David Clark reports that a Reading Police officer was struck by a passing vehicle while conducting a routine traffic stop on Saturday night. Police are seeking public assistance to help identify the operator of the vehicle.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, at about 7:29 p.m., a Reading Police officer was conducting a routine traffic stop near 326 Lowell St. at Willow Street when they were struck on the elbow by the side-view mirror of a passing pickup truck. The car was traveling east on Lowell Street and turned south on Willow Street.
The officer was treated at a local hospital for injuries that are not believed to be serious and was released.
The pickup truck is red and believed to be an older model. The pickup truck is red with a black bumper and is believed to be an older model. The vehicle may also have a light strip across the back of the tailgate door. Reading Police ask residents to check personal surveillance footage that may have captured the incident in the area of Lowell Street and Willow Street.
