Due to the ongoing wildfire smoke affecting eastern Massachusetts, the annual Downtown Trick or Treat scheduled for Tuesday October 29th at 4pm is cancelled.
Reports confirm multiple fires, with the largest encompassing over 100 acres in Salem, MA. Smoke from these and other fires throughout the state has led to degraded air quality, prompting concerns for the health of residents, particularly those at increased risk.
Seniors and other vulnerable populations, such as those with asthma, COPD and Emphysema, should try to remain indoors as much as possible. Other safety measures include avoid all outdoor activities including exercise, wear a mask outdoors, close all windows, and run an air purifier.
