READING, MA — Locally owned Reading School of Guitar saw its first significant expansion in October with the opening of its new location at 1312 Main Street in Reading, MA. The newly renovated 2000-square-foot building features four classrooms and a rentable recording studio. With more space, the school will be able to improve its reach to new families, further increase scheduling flexibility, and create new specialized programs such as a guitar ensemble and master classes.
Whether students are complete beginners or looking to refine their skills, the school’s programs cater to all experience levels. The Reading School of Guitar currently offers programs for adults, teens, and children ages seven and up. In addition to honing their basic guitar skills, students can select from a variety of programs; they can form a band, learn guitar improvisation techniques, or play in an ensemble, to name a few. Fun and goal-oriented lessons keep students on track to progress without frustration. Monthly scheduling, multiple weekly timeslots, and easy rescheduling options make their programs ideal for busy families and individuals.
I’m returning to learning guitar after years away. Jon is a wonderful teacher; each class,
I learn distinct new skills or revisit familiar ones in new ways. His teaching isn’t just
outcome-oriented; it’s process-oriented. He encourages my curiosity, and I’m learning
tools I can harness to become a better guitar player and a better and more creative
musician. My love of playing guitar and music is being reignited.” – Jill A., Student
Reading School of Guitar believes in inspiring creativity and building community, while the school aims to be a musical community hub for its students and their families. Through supportive instruction and community connection, Reading School of Guitar creates a foundation for students to grow not only as musicians but as confident individuals ready to share their talents.
We’re not just teaching music; we’re building confidence and connections that last well
beyond each class and rehearsal.” – Jon Taubman, Founder
