As a 46 year resident, Town Meeting member, and RPS educator for almost 40 years, I am honored to submit this letter of the strongest support for Melissa Murphy as one of the individuals whose life closely exemplifies the 3 -E’s – Experience, Expertise, and Execution, qualities that are essential for re-election to the Select Board on April 8. Without question, Melissa is the most prepared, knowledgeable, and experienced candidate. With her proven record of advocating for fiscal responsibility, supporting local businesses, and more importantly actively listening and responding to residents’ voices, Melissa is uniquely positioned to re-assume her role as a duly-elected member of the Select Board once again.
In my interactions with Melissa, I can personally attest that she possesses the competency, aptitude, and collaborative skills to provide Reading families with fairness and balance when addressing critical initiatives, such as trash/recycling solutions, tiered water rates, and MBTA state mandates, to name a few. Melissa’s skill-set as a paralegal for eight years, her criminal justice related positions, her proficiencies in research and analytics, are all valuable resources for Select Board members, as they navigate through a complex series of capital projects and budgetary decisions during this critical fiscal juncture.
Melissa has already formed relationships with the community, the programs, and the day-to-day workings of town government.
With Reading on the cusp of historic and costly expenditures, she welcomes opportunities to listen to all points of view with an open and independent mind. More importantly, as an advocate for all Reading families and seniors, she has the confidence and self-assurance to take prompt and decisive action on day one.
Please join with me in voting on April 8th for Melissa Murphy who has the Experience, the Expertise, and the ability to Execute successful outcomes for all Reading residents. Thank you.
Respectfully submitted,
Eileen Litterio
