It’s that time of year again where incumbents are looking to retain their seats and potentially new candidates are emerging. Town Clerk Laura Gemme has provided an update for all of the open seats in the March 5, 2024 local election, which is combined this year with the Presidential Primary. We will provide updates every Thursday until the ballot is finalized as nomination papers are not official until returned and certified by the Town Clerk and Board of Registrars.
It all starts off with Alan Foulds, running for a historic 28th year straight for Town Moderator pulling and returning papers already. Currently, the single candidate for re-election to the Select Board Christopher Haley has not pulled papers. The same goes for the School Committee incumbents Shawn Brandt and Sarah McLaughlin. From the RMLD Board of Commissioners, incumbent Pamela Daskalakis has pulled for one of the two seats with Marlena Bita outstanding.
Wrapping things up with the The Board of Library Trustees has two incumbents Andrew Grimes and Monique Gnanaratnam not yet taking out papers. On the other hand, newcomer Andrew Gregory of Pleasant Street, pulled on November 28th but hasn’t returned them as of this posting.
Town meeting has 34 nomination papers out, of which 31 are incumbents; Andrew Gregory (P2), Tara Gregory (P2) and Michael Coltman (P4) are the three newcomers.
