Tonight at 7:00PM, on the Community Planning & Development Commission’s (CPDC) agenda, is a Sign Permit Application for 5 Harnden St, Dollar Tree. This isn’t the first time a sign permit was submitted for Dollar Tree though. Back in 2019, they also got as far as a sign request with CPDC but apparently backed out due to delivery trucks having issues getting onto the property. This time around, a delivery truck passed it’s trial run and they proceeded with their interior renovation plans as of last week.
In August of 2023, it was first mentioned that Dollar Tree had a renewed interest in the former Walgreens building at both CPDC and Fincom meetings after the deal with the Town to purchase the building fell through. Dollar Tree had submitted a building permit application for an interior renovation. It was not a zoning request but a same use permit so they must adhere to the site plan agreements made when the building was constructed.
