via the Chambers email sent out to members today – We are excited to announce that our new Executive Director, Rob Miner, started with the Reading – North Reading Chamber of Commerce at the beginning of January.
Rob steps into a role held for the last nine years by previous Director, Lisa Egan. Lisa left in August to join Bentley University in promoting their executive education and outside partnerships.
“I’m hoping to expand on the solid foundation of the Chamber built by Lisa, the Executive Board and the many Chamber members who support the community,” said Miner.
“My plan is to expand programs and services that directly benefit our members and the local community. I see my role as collaborating with business, local government, and community leaders to advocate for our members and make sure they are properly represented.”
Rob comes to us after most recently being Executive Director at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce, where he revived their highly popular “Taste of Bedford” event that had been cancelled during the pandemic. He holds a Business Management degree and Psychology Health minor from Plymouth State College. In the early years of his career, he was an account executive in the software industry serving Fortune 1000 companies.
His passion and desire for community, service and servant leadership guided him to the Director of Development and Executive Director roles for a national collegiate leadership and honors organization, where he has served for the past 20 years.
Rob is also a QPR certified Instructor by the QPR Institute for Suicide Prevention and has been awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award for the past 5 years. Rob and his wife Nicole have been married for over 20 years and have two children.
Rob has already met with several members of the Chamber and plans to do more outreach in the coming months. For anyone in the community interested in meeting Rob, the Chamber has several upcoming events scheduled this month that he will attend. We are also planning a Special Welcome at our next evening networking event at Public Kitchen in Reading on Wednesday, January 31.
All event details and registration information are available on our website at www.rnrchamber.com.
