Did you know that over 8,000 Massachusetts women joined the workforce at the Boston Navy Yard during World War II? As men signed up to join the military, women also wanted to do their bit beyond volunteering with the Red Cross or serving as nurses. Though limited at first to administrative jobs, women soon were able to become painters, crane operators, welders, and even Marines!
Come hear their stories and learn about how they helped to turn the tide of the war.
